Only locals know to go out this short access road to the mouth of Alder Creek. Great blue and gray herons are frequently seen here and some say they have seen the mysterious and perhaps legendary Point Arena Mountain Beaver.
The loop trail that takes you over the meadow leads to enviable vistas of ranches that spread for hundreds of acres. These ranchers still do as their fathers did in a spectacular backyard.
