What a lovely and relaxing stay! It is difficult returning to the reality of every day living. We will prepare for a move back to the northeast. We are so grateful for our time in Ca. We found this place in Sunset Magazine. It sounded like a great place to get away from daily life and it has been wonderful. We enjoyed the hospitality Friday evening & meeting the guests of the weekend. Breakfast Saturday morning was excellent & again we enjoyed the conversation around the table as we all prepared to take off to the surrounding area.
Mia gave us a quick travel guide of the area, which was very helpful & she is a wonderful wit!
The jacuzzi tub was wonderful as well as the little fireplace. The nights were amazingly silent & the quail woke us up with their song.

This inn is so much more amazing than I anticipated. The comfort was abundant on all levels. It gave Ashlee and I a wonderful romantic retreat for our honeymoon. She was not sure of what to expect after a long, winding drive down; but we both loved every minute. Kudos on breakfast, it has been the best of our honeymoon. The tub, view, seclusion and gentle lulling of the waves crashing on the rocks made for a truly unforgettable stay. Undoubtedly you can expect us to return again in the future. We had a wonderful time at the boathouse. Enjoyed the spa tub and the fire in the stove each night. Very comfortable accommodations and spectacular view. This was my first trip to California and we were given this trip to celebrate our 60th birthdays by our children. They wanted us to see "wine country" and we selected Mendocino over Napa or Sonoma. Tomorrow, the 16th we will celebrate 50 years of marriage. We chose to come to the coast because we both have always loved the ocean and unique beauty of the area. Our brief overnight stay at the Coast Guard House has been a great start to our trip. After all those years, four wonderful children and grandchildren life just seems so perfect. Hospitality and serenity here is outstanding, it's easy to think of returning many times. Thanks for making us feel welcome and comfortable.

Dear Mia & Kevin-
A perfect opportunity to unshackle ourselves from the frenetic "i" world and luxuriate at your bucolic "Boat House". Whales greeted us at Manchester Beach and the meanderings along the bluffs and beaches were absolutely beautiful. The gourmet breakfast was of Michelin quality and we depart reluctantly with bellies full and "batteries" fully charged. Thank you both for allowing us to empty our overly full "bucket lists" and adding another chapter in our book of Great Expectations.

We have spent a wonderful 4 days here at the Coast Guard's Inn. Kevin and Mia are terrific host [s] - Mia's fantastic breakfast and sense of humor set us up for the day. Kevin shared his local knowledge with us and helped us get the most out of our time.
This has been just the wind down we needed after 3 weeks travelling around California. Expect more visits from travelling Scots. It really is a great place to stay.
